PAY YOUR FINES BEFORE REGISTRATION!
Letters are being mailed home during the week of June 28th notifying students and parents about fines owed to the school. Please make sure to pay these fine BEFORE registration so you do not have to endure long lines and frustration. Please feel free to contact the Book Room by calling 843-6400 ext. 303. Thank you.

AHS/UNM PARTNERSHIP
Albuquerque High School and the University of New Mexico have begun a partnership that will serve the AHS community. One of these partnerships consists of the promotion of the Dual Credit Program at UNM. Click on the link above to learn how you can earn high school credit and university credit at the same time without paying a penny! Specific questions can be directed to Assistant Principal Gabriel Antonio Gonzales at 843-6400 ext. 201.

OPEN HOUSE "A TASTE OF BULLDOG CITY"
Join us for Open House on Wednesday, September 15th. "A Taste of Bulldog City" (dinner), entertainment, and showcases will begin at 5:00 PM. Classroom visits will begin promptly at 6:00 PM. Please join us!

HAS YOUR ADDRESS OR PHONE NUMBER CHANGED?
The school wants to be sure that you receive report cards and other school mail.  Your child also risks being disenrolled if you cannot provide proof that at least one parent lives within the Albuquerque High School District.  We cannot change your address in our database without proof of residence.

REPORTING ABSENCES
Parents or guardians are to report absences to the appropriate grade level administrators secretary; parents may call the office at 843-6400. Notes or phone calls should include:  Student name and ID number, date/s of absence, reason for absence, parent signature and parent phone number. Failure to report an absence within 48 hours upon return to school will result in an unexcused absence.

REGISTRATION FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2010-2011
Registration for the 2010-2011 school year is as follows:
{Students will only be accepted for registration on their respective day(s)}

August 9, 2010: 12th Graders; 8AM - 1PM
August 10, 2010: 11th Graders; 8AM - 1 PM
August 11, 2010: 10th Graders; 8AM - 2PM
August 11, 2010: Grades 9-12; 4:30 PM - 7 PM
August 12, 2010: 9th Graders; 8AM - 2 PM
August 17, 2010: NEW STUDENTS; 8AM - 12 NOON

It is very important that parents DO ATTEND registration with their children!  Also, students should remember to bring their $10.00 activity fee and lock for their locker.

AHS FACULTY MEMBER PUBLISHES!
Longtime Social Studies teacher Mr. John Lopez has published a book entitled, Pues Llamame Padre (Just Call Me Father). This historical novel is about a Mexican-American teenager who enters the minor seminary as a high school freshman. To order book visit www.iuniverse.com. ISBN number is 978-1-4401-8603-5.

The entire AHS community extends heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Lopez for his contributions to our school community and on his latest accomplishment!

CLASS OF 2011 - YEARBOOK PHOTOS
2011 Seniors: If you wish to have your senior portrait in the yearbook, you need to have your photo taken by LifeTouch on Wyoming. Please contact them ASAP to set up an appointment, 237-1957. If you have any questions, email Ms. K. Hart, yearbook adviser.



PARENT COMMUNICATION TOOL - iParent
Albuquerque High School is piloting iParent, a web-based communication tool that will give you information on your child’s grades, graded assignments, attendance, and daily class schedule.  Participation is optional.  If you choose to participate, the first step is to obtain an iParent user name and password for each of your children.

• First and last name, Your child’s ID number, as it is on his/her school badge
